Amelia Hallin
Amelia (she/her) is a ProDoula Certified Postpartum Doula who brings warmth, patience, and years of experience caring for babies and children to her work with families. Long before becoming a doula, Amelia was the neighborhood babysitter and the person who could reliably be found holding a baby at any family gathering. Supporting children and families has always come naturally to her.
Originally from San Diego, Amelia moved to Vermont in 2021 to attend the University of Vermont, where she studied Dance with a minor in Health and Society. She joined Vermont Doula Company in 2024 and spent more than a year providing overnight postpartum support to VDC families, gaining extensive hands-on experience with newborn care and supporting parents through the early weeks and months after bringing home a new baby.
After graduating from UVM, Amelia spent time traveling internationally before settling in New York City. There, she continued working closely with children and families through nannying, household management, and childcare while exploring opportunities to continue her work as a doula. Ultimately, her time away reinforced how much she loved postpartum work—and, more specifically, being part of the VDC team. After just over a year away, Amelia returned to Vermont specifically to rejoin Vermont Doula Company. She is excited to be back supporting VDC families and continuing to grow her work as a doula. She is currently completing formal birth doula training while keeping postpartum care at the heart of her work.
Amelia is particularly passionate about supporting and advocating for families and birth workers of color. She understands how meaningful representation can be during such a personal and vulnerable season of life and values helping families feel seen, comfortable, and supported in their own homes.
Outside of doula work, Amelia loves cooking, baking, painting, and spending as much time outdoors as possible—at least when Vermont weather cooperates. Dance remains a big part of her life, and she is passionate about movement and the joy it can bring. You may even catch her grooving around the kitchen or having a tiny dance party with a fussy baby during an overnight shift. Amelia firmly believes that everyone can, and should, boogie.
