With our Company’s unique approach you will be matched with a team of two doulas.

In the months and days leading up to your birth you will not only have access to the expertise of one doula but two who will guide you through your preparations and help you gain the confidence you need to bring your baby home. Additionally, by sharing a call schedule around your due time this ensures that the doula who attends your birth is well-rested and prepared to give you the devoted support you deserve.

If the birth you desire includes you doing so from a place of authenticity, empowerment, and confidence, you have come to the right place.

Four Cornerstones of Doula Support:

PHYSICAL SUPPORT
to help you maintain a sense of control, comfort, and confidence

  • Comforting touch that initiates relaxation and reduces stress
  • Pressure and counter-pressure that decrease discomfort
  • Breathing techniques that ease pain and increase focus
  • Gentle touch techniques that enable deep relaxation
  • Positional changes that support labor progression
  • Verbal affirmation that contributes to your empowerment

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT
to help you feel cared for and feel a sense of pride and empowerment after birth

  • Continuous presence
  • Reassurance
  • Encouragement
  • Mirroring—calmly describing what you are experiencing and echoing back the same feelings and intensity
  • Helping you and you partner work through fears and self-doubt
  • Debriefing after the birth—listening to you with empathy

INFORMATIONAL SUPPORT
keep you informed about what’s going on with the course of labor, as well as provide access to evidence-based information about birth options.

  • Suggesting techniques in labor, such as breathing, relaxation techniques, movement, and positioning
  • Helping you find evidence-based information about different options in pregnancy and childbirth
  • Encouragement
  • Helping explain medical procedures before or as they occur
  • Helping your support person understand what’s going on with their loved one’s labor

ADVOCACY
supporting you in your right to make decisions about your own body and baby

  • Encouraging you to ask questions and verbalize your preferences
  • Creating space and time for you to ask questions, gather evidence-based information, and make decisions without feeling pressured
  • Facilitating communication between you and care providers
  • Teaching you and your support person or partner communication techniques
