Haley Parizo
Haley Parizo (she/her) is a pediatric Registered Nurse, certified postpartum doula, birth doula, new parent educator, infant feeding educator, and small business consultant. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Vermont and has completed extensive professional training through the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA), ProDoula, and New Horizons Training Network. She is also a member of the Perinatal Professionals Association (PPA).
Haley has built her career across pediatric and perinatal settings, including more than 15 years as a pediatric RN at Richmond Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. She also has previous experience in the Family Birth Center at Northwestern Medical Center and the Birthing Pavilion at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Her clinical background, combined with her extensive doula experience and training, allows her to bridge medical knowledge with thoughtful, personalized, relationship-based care.
As a doula, Haley is especially known for her expertise in postpartum overnight care and newborn care. Her passion for postpartum support was solidified through her own early parenting experience, which deepened her understanding of just how essential sleep, practical help, and consistent, compassionate support can be during this transition. She knows firsthand just how impactful support can be for a parent’s mental and emotional well-being. Haley brings a calm, steady, and highly attuned presence to the families she serves, helping parents feel supported, informed, and confident as they settle into life with a new baby.
Haley is the Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Vermont Doula Company, where she serves as the Director of Postpartum Services. She oversees the development and delivery of postpartum care across the agency, including team training, client care, and day-to-day operations, and has played an integral role in building the systems and infrastructure that support VDC and its growing team.
Prior to founding Vermont Doula Company, Haley owned Island Doula, LLC, providing pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support to families throughout Northern Vermont. She also played a key role in developing the Volunteer Labor Doula Program at the University of Vermont Medical Center and served as the program’s first coordinator.
In addition to her work with families, Haley provides consulting and mentorship to doulas, doula agency owners, and other service-based business owners, with a particular interest in helping doula agencies build sustainable systems and transition to employee-based models. Her work is grounded in her own experience building and leading a multi-provider agency, with a focus on thoughtful operations, strong teams, and sustainable growth.
As an entrepreneur and working mother, Haley has experienced firsthand the value of meaningful support, both in parenthood and in building a business. This perspective shapes all aspects of her work and her belief that people do their best when they are well supported.
Haley lives in Grand Isle with her husband, Dustin, who is every bit as passionate about his business, Island Excavating Corp., as she is about Vermont Doula Company. Together they have two children, Bryson and Tenley, and two dogs. Outside of work, Haley enjoys audiobooks and podcasts, crafting and gardening, capturing family memories, time on the water, and traveling whenever she gets the chance.
